Built in 1840, Abbey Farmhouse is surrounded by stunning Cumbrian countryside with the beautiful 12th century Lanercost Priory and it’s ruins as a back drop. Our location is incredibly special situated just 400 yards away from the world heritage site of Hadrian’s wall. It is within easy reach of the Lake district, Northumberland and Scotland and only 15 minute’s drive from the M6.

We have three beautifully appointed en-suite bedrooms, each with a seating area, extra large showers and luxury super-king beds which can be set up as a double or twin. All rooms are equipped with free wi-fi, TV, hair-dryers, luxury toiletries and bottled water. On the upstairs landing there are tea, coffee and hot chocolate making facilities with a wide assortment of biscuits for those wishing a late night/early morning drink and snack. The two bedrooms to the front of the house look out to open fields and the ancient woodland of the Irthing river valley. The third bedroom to the back of the house overlooks the stunning ruins of the historical Lanercost Priory.

Breakfast is served in our cosy dining room with individual antique tables for each guest room. We aim whenever possible to use organic or locally sourced produce and can offer both vegetarian and vegan breakfasts. There is a gracious bright and airy sitting room for guests to relax in, with a wide selection of books to choose from.

There is a large private parking area at the back of the house and to the front of the house the garden with seating area overlooks the picturesque open fields and woodland.

At Abbey Farm House we aim to give you the ultimate country house experience leaving relaxed, refreshed and rejuvenated. For further details of rates and special offers please use our bookings page.
